Associate in Arts for Transfer
Program Details
The Associate in Arts in Elementary Teacher Education for Transfer Degree (AA-T) is specifically designed for students planning to transfer to a CSU campus with an Integrated Teacher Education Program (ITEP), an undergraduate program of teacher preparation in which students earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Studies and a preliminary Multiple Subject Credential in four years. This degree encompasses the multiple subject matter program standards adopted by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing. Students earning this degree can also transfer to non-integrated Liberal Studies Teacher Preparation Program. It is recommended they consult with a counselor to make sure they meet all transfer requirements into a non-integrated program. Students wishing to pursue the Associate in Arts for Transfer in Elementary Teacher Education must complete 60 semester units eligible for transfer to the California State University, including a minimum of 18 units of major coursework in the major, as detailed below. Students must maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA, including grades of C (or P) or higher in each course taken to fulfill the major and complete the Cal-GETC general education course pattern.
