Mathematics
Associate in Science for Transfer
Program Details
Mathematics and related subjects play important dual roles in our culture. On the one hand, mathematics is a study in its own right; on the other hand it is an indispensable tool for expressing and understanding ideas in the sciences, engineering, and an increasing number of other fields. This degree prepares students for baccalaureate programs in any mathematics-related field or other areas that value quantitative and problem-solving skills. California Community College students who are awarded an Associate in Science for Transfer in Mathematics are guaranteed admission with junior standing in the CSU system and given priority admission consideration to CSU campuses to a baccalaureate degree program that is deemed similar to their community college major. The AS-T in Mathematics requires the following: Complete 60 semester units or 90 quarter units of CSU degree-applicable courses, earn a minimum overall grade point average of 2.0 in those CSU degree-applicable courses, earn a minimum grade of “C” (or “P”) for each course in the major, and complete the Cal-GETC course pattern with minimum grades of C. A “P” (pass) grade is also an acceptable grade if "pass" grade is defined as a “C” or better". CSU and UC campuses may have unit limits for courses completed for P grades.
